ANGOLA
Pray for Jonathan Singleton and Glyn Davies who are currently visiting Angola for a month will working on the construction of an agricultural polytunnel, and repair work on vehicles and appliances. Pray for safety in travel, strength and wisdom, good health and that they would be an encouragement and help to the believers there.

DEM. REP. OF CONGO

Mary Ratter – The hospital at Katoka  is looking for a replacement administrator. They have a short list of 3. Pray that the right person would be appointed soon.

Please pray for wisdom in their medical work. Please pray that the French Calendars  that were distributed to officials  will be read and bring much blessing.

KENYA
John and Yokey Roberts (DPG 1966-2013) would appreciate prayer for the distribution of the Swahili evangelistic broadsheet called ‘Upesi’ meaning ‘soon’ amongst the watchmen.

MALAWI

Stephen Harper (N.Ireland) is scheduled to return to Malawi on the 12th February. He reports that the Government has declared a state of emergency in the southern part of the country where he normally works, due to heavy rainfall, flash flooding, and loss of life. About 90% of homes are affected to some degree in the Blantyre region.

REPUBLIC OF S. AFRICA
Paul and Dorothy Grieve (Murchison) would value prayer as they continue with Bible studies being held at a Zulu assembly.

TANZANIA
Steve and Gill Davies (Dar-es-SalaamPray for the new group of children beginning Kindergarten at WWT. They are settling into a routine and are happy to sing choruses, learn new songs and hear Bible stories. Pray for those who teach the children that they would be able to help them to develop physically, emotionally and above all spiritually.

ZAMBIA
Pray for Edgar Lungu who has been elected as President of Zambia. Please pray that under his leadership Zambia will continue to enjoy the same amount of ‘religious liberty’ that it has enjoyed in recent years.

Steve and Muriel Studd (Chingola)Pray that the planned building work for a new workshop will progress and that they will have the necessary skills to carry out the construction work.

Eric and Margaret McCaughren (Kitwe) give thanks for prayer regarding the trainee nurses Bible study, which has increased from one to two nurses to twenty being present at the last meeting.

Julie-Rachel Elwood (left) – The mission at Chitokoloki relies very much on the internet for communications, ordering of supplies and receiving medical reports etc. Pray that the necessary help will be available when technology fails.

THAILAND

Peter & Peggy Ferry (Phuket) Peggy's health continues to give cause for prayer. Please pray also for Peter as he continues to help and encourage assemblies, preaching and teaching the word of God.

ARGENTINA
Jim and Betty Burnett (Parana) ask prayer for two Gospel outreaches and those involved in this work from the assembly, and for the monthly visits to various assemblies for Bible teaching. Prayer is also asked for a couple newly commended from the Paraná assembly, Nelson and Roxana Gallitto, who are involved in a weekly outreach to ‘street people’.

BRAZIL
James Crawford (senior worker)  Please pray for the radio ministry which is broadcast daily. Work has been concentrating on the poorer areas where people tend to listen more to radio programmes. One lady having heard a Gospel service accepted the invitation to go to the local assembly. Pray that she would continue to attend and come to know Christ.

Walter and Elizabeth Alexander (Uberlandia). Yesterday, the government advised people that if the situation continues most homes will have a water supply only two days per week.    Lack of water will not only affect homes but also industry.   The Coca Cola Company has already transferred its main production factory from São Paulo.  The rationing of water could seriously affect the Brazilian economy. Please pray for our country and for the need of rain.

BOLIVIA
Mario and Helen Ponce (Cochabamba)– Pray for the prison ministry in which Helen is involved. Changes have taken place recently due to corruption in the men’s prison which is affecting and preventing visits to the women prisoners. Pray that this will be resolved soon so that they can resume their contacts.

PANAMA
Clive and Hazel Walker (Santiago) give thanks that the calendars have arrived and they have begun delivering them to many areas in the country.  They have also been going door to door with the calendars and tracts in local towns where there is no Gospel witness.  Prayer is asked that, through this outreach, opportunities will arise for home Bible studies.

CANADA

Peter Smith writes that his home assembly have asked him to take a series of Treasure Seekers.  For a while he and Elaine have been interested in witnessing to a group of houses south of Portage in an area called Southport. They have now been offered the use of a room there in a small Christian school located on this estate, and plan to hold a Treasure Seekers week.. Please pray for this effort from 9th – 13th Feb. D.V. If interest from the locals is good, they also plan to hold a weekly meeting for possibly five or six weeks.

ALBANIA

Marijan Nyhopf has stated that she would like to retire from “The Hiding Place” within 3 years. Prayer is requested for someone to replace her, ideally a married couple.

Colin and Elida Stephen (Shkoder) would appreciate prayer for the discipleship class they run with teenagers and students. It is progressing well and they are planning a weekend away with the group. Pray that this would a time of blessing and growth in the young people’s knowledge of God, and desire to live for Him.

FRANCE

Graham & Alison Black (Bouc Bel Air) report that at the Voice of the Gospel ministries things continue to be encouraging in general. They have recently had more requests from radio stations to broadcast the programs.

Graham writes that there is a need to have more speakers come along to give messages, so they would ask us to pray  that the Lord will raise up more people who will be able and willing to come along and give messages.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND
Noel and Liza McMeekin (Cootehill) would value prayer as they begin this year’s Postal Bible School Prize-givings to be held over the next few months. Pray for safety in travel, that a good number of students and parents would attend, and that God would be at work in hearts so that the message which is presented would create a genuine response. Pray that Noel and Liza would be an encouragement to believers at the Prize-givings, many of whom are living in remote areas and do not have much Christian fellowship. In addition, pray that while they are away the administration work connected with Postal Bible School will be dealt with sufficiently, and there will not be a significant backlog of mail.

David and Kay Stevens (DPG 1970-2012)Pray for David as he makes preparations to speak at the Postal Bible School Prize-givings in February and March that his words will be a blessing to all who attend.

ITALY

Erion and Victoria Pici (Marsciano)Pray that a new assembly building would be found. The Sunday school is steadily growing, and the search for a building over the past three years has proved unfruitful.

NORWAY

Nat & Jennifer Rodgers (Skien) would value continuing prayer for the ministries they are involved with, and for safe travel as they will be visiting various assemblies and fellowships for teaching and preaching in the next few months.

A man K, needs our prayers.  Over the years he has faithfully attended Bible studies, trusted Christ, and is being moved to an open prison before his release.  He has requested that Christians should pray for him as he is fully aware of his weaknesses, especially related to drugs.  He does not want to go back to his old ways when released, so if we join  in praying for him, that will in itself be a source of encouragement.

SPAIN
Ken and Alison Barrett (Madrid) ask prayer for the next intensive course of the Madrid Bible Teaching Centre to be held on 7th February. They will be studying 1 Thessalonians ‘The Life that pleases God’.  Pray for the speaker José Moreno Berrocal, for a good attendance, and that it will stimulate godly and effective living.

ETHNIC MINORITIES

Ruth Cushing – Please continue to pray for the ministries with which she is involved on Merseyside. The Toxteth Women’s Centre averages sixty five women each session, and has a waiting list of thirty. Recently three of the women attended church with Fliss (the centre manager). Pray also for the MBU (Meetings for Better Understanding) which haven’t taken place as often as they would have liked, that they will take place soon, and be effective in sharing the Gospel.

OTHER SERVICE:

The Society for Distributing Hebrew Scriptures will be exhibiting at the Jerusalem International Book Fair from February 8th –12th. The exhibition is open for 12 hours each day, and we are asked to remember the book fair in our prayers.

Alan Barber (Hartlepool) has a full month of school visits with the exception of half-term week, 16th –20th.

Keith Bullock (OAM) is still not well. His medication has been changed, and his blood-pressure lowered, but he is suffering from a continuous headache,  a bruised scalp, light headedness, and slightly blurred vision. He has had to cancel further engagements in February. Although in his spirit he is raring to go, the flesh at the moment is very weak. He is recognising that the Lord has laid him aside for a while and he’ll have to just accept that as being His will.

Pray for all the Postal Bible School Centres that God will provide their financial needs and sufficient markers. Many are seeing increasing interest amongst home students but there has been a particular increase in the use of the Bibletime lessons in schools in Ireland. This has been a big encouragement, but has caused a considerable strain in terms of finance and the marking of lessons.
