MALAWI
Jonathan Newell (DPG 2002-2013) -
A large consignment of
Jonathan’s
books has just arrived in Malawi including his new discipleship
book. "Fear
on Every Side",
more copies of "The
Journey of Life"
(Pilgrim's Progress) in English and Chichewa, and copies of the
Blessings Minibus
series in English and Chichewa. Please
pray
that
Ananda Babu
will have success in getting these books out across the country and
into as many bookshops as possible, as well as selling them through
churches and schools and into villages.
Pray
that the books will be a source of blessing to many.
Stephen Harper,
with 16 brothers and sisters from the UK, during August was able to
distribute
20,000
“Seed
Sowers”
packs. The response has been remarkable with about 15 ‘phone calls
or texts daily.
Please
pray
for the promised blessing, and for guidance concerning how best to
develop this aspect of work as they go forward. Please particularly
pray
for Brother
Harold
as he follows up many of these contacts.
ZAMBIA
Julie-Rachel
Elwood (Chitoloki)
continues with her Sunday ‘run’ collecting people on
her bike/trailer so that they can attend services at the mission.
Pray
for safety as travel is fraught with danger due to inexperienced
drivers and bad roads.
Tim and Joy Beer (Loloma) -
An agreement has been made appointing
CMML (’Christian Missions in Many Lands’)
to manage the new High School at
Kayombo,
on behalf of the government, which will enable the school to have a
strong spiritual foundation and good standards of teaching. They
would value
prayer
for the following:
1.
Recommending to the government their choice for both the Head
teacher and the Deputy, which they have agreed to implement.
2. Recommending other teachers they would like to be at the school.
3. Finalising the various policies that need to be in place in order
to achieve the desired educational goals.
Jamie
and Marilyn McIlree (Chingola)
report on a recent 2-week visit to the
Congo.
He was able to take in and distribute 15,000 tracts
whilst there.
There
was a four day conference at
Moba
which was attended by around 7,000 people, some of whom had walked
more than 100 miles to be there. There is an evident hunger for the
word of God which is so encouraging and humbling to see.
Despite all the
encouragements there are huge needs in all of the schools and
hospitals which operate with very limited resources. In the absence
of a government that provides these services for the local people,
these are very tangible opportunities to serve local communities and
to preach the gospel to everyone they come in to contact with as a
result.
Two of the biggest
needs appear to be for Bible teaching and literature. It is
concerning to see the very serious lack of Bibles and absence of
reliable books and commentaries. The impact that this has on local
assemblies is clear to see as even from short conversations it is
evident that the word is not being taught as it should be. These are
matters that we are bringing before the Lord and we remain open to
His guidance to see in what ways we can support the believers there.
INDIA
Ian and Anita Elliott (New Delhi)– Pray
for them as they make future plans.
Pray
for
Ian
as he travels to the UK on
10th
September.
Anita
will remain in Delhi due to visa processing.
Pray
that this will be sorted in time for their daughter
Mrinalini’s
graduation in November at
Teesside Uni.
THAILAND
David & Maureen Wood (Chiang Mai)
write that the new school year has begun at
Grace International School.
Please
pray
for new staff as they join in to a new chapter in
their lives and for new students that they would quickly feel at
ease and confident in their surroundings and make friends.
CANADA

ALBANIA
Peter
Hedley reports that
the children at
“The Hiding Place”
really enjoyed their summer camps
in which they have participated
this Summer. Their desire and
prayer
is that all may come into a true and genuine experience of the New
Birth (John 3. 3). Please join in
prayer
to that end.
IRELAND
