ANGOLA
Brian & Debbie Howden
~
It will be good to spend some time
again with the local believers at Camundambala, and we trust
that we will be an encouragement to them. All schools will be closed
for the national census that will be taking place during our time
there, so there will be a ready source of willing helpers on
hand for the many practical jobs which there are in abundance.
DEM REPUBLIC of CONGO
Rachel
Newby (Lubumbashi)
– Next month Rachel is expecting a team of sixteen Canadians
who will help with practical jobs at the clinic and the deaf school
as well as organising a three day children’s Bible club in a local
school. Pray for all the planning which needs to be done both
in Canada and in Lubumbashi.
RWANDA
Peter
and Jenny Andrews
– Emmaus courses and other translated books continue to help
many in Rwanda to grow in their faith. A course ‘Born
to Win’ is due to be translated for prisoners in particular.
Pray for "E" who spent several years in prison but is
now involved in the Emmaus work, and for "S" who heads
up the Emmaus work and teaches the courses twice weekly over
the radio.
ZAMBIA
Eric and Margaret McCaughren (Kitwe) – Give thanks that in
answer to prayer Margaret has a suitable helper for
the Saturday “Good News Club”, a lady who speaks fluent
Bemba and able to translate the message to the children
who speak little or no English. The numbers attending have been
steadily increasing to 50 or more, so now there is the possibility
of dividing the group. In addition, pray for the School of
Nursing Bible Studies as attendance is low and irregular, and
that a suitable permanent room would become available for teaching.
Timothy and Joy Beer
(Loloma)
–
Please
continue to pray
for the Gospel outreach each Monday within the hospital or local
villages, for wisdom in the various maintenance issues at the
hospital and mission, and for help with Bible teaching opportunities
at both the local Government school, Nursery school and Young men’s
weekly Bible study.
Ian
and Marilyn Campbell (Chingola) –Pray
for the prison outreach as Ian along with four other
believers spend time ministering to those in a high security prison
and also assisting them with Emmaus courses. As there are
many different religious groups visiting the prison please pray
for the prisoner’s protection against false doctrines so that they
do not become confused, and that many will put their faith in
Christ.
JAPAN
Ronnie and Anne Cairns (Japan 1960-2012) are visiting
assemblies in Japan to preach, teach and minister to
believers until mid-May. Pray for safety in travel, good
health, guidance and that they may be a blessing to those they meet.
THAILAND
David and Maureen Wood (Chiang Mai) – Pray for M (one
of David’s senior students) and three other young people who
were baptised recently from Chiang Mai Christian Fellowship,
that they would continue to walk closely with the Lord and grow in
their faith.
PANAMA
Clive and Hazel Walker (Santiago) – Due to the distribution
of Gospel tracts and calendars a number of new Bible studies have
begun. Pray for M and C, U, B and
O as Clive and Hazel share the message of the
Gospel with them.
FRANCE
Graham & Alison Black (Marseille)
ask prayer for
40 radio programmes which will be beamed out over the air in the not
too distant future. Please pray that these 15 minute
programmes will be a blessing to the many thousands, perhaps
millions, of people that will listen to them throughout the French
speaking world.
Gerry
and Dorothy Seed (Nantes) – Gerry
has a teaching session in May on ‘Understanding and Interpreting
the Bible’. Pray for wisdom and clarity as he prepares
for this, and for Dorothy as she continues with translating ‘Bible
time’ lessons into French.
