ANGOLA
Brian Howden
returns to Angola on the
7th January
with
Debbie
and
Iain Mathie
from the
Ely
assembly who will be undertaking the installation of a new
generator, wiring the new hall and many more jobs. Please remember
this forthcoming visit in
prayer
that the Lords hand might be upon all arrangements.
BOTSWANA
Clark
& Hazel Logan (Gaborone)
report that the Botswana National
Library
has ordered 50 copies of the Setswana version of “Tell
Me More About The Gospel”
by Bert Cargill. They are encouraged by this unexpected opening for
nationwide distribution of this helpful publication. Please
pray
that it and a 2nd edition of the
Setswana Bible Dictionary
will be a means of bringing the gospel to many.
ZAMBIA
Eric and Margaret McCaughren (Kitwe)
- Please
pray
for the Saturday morning children’s
Good News Club
which
Margaret
leads. The class is now full to capacity and she would value someone
committed to help her in this work. In addition,
pray
that the new students starting in
January
2014 at both the nursing school in
Kitwe,
and the teacher training college may attend regularly. At the moment
they have very few 1st
and 2nd year
trainee nurses attending.
Tim & Sarah M
They
have converted one of their bedrooms into a ”Classroom” which will
hold about 12—14 students.
In
January Tim
expects to go through Exodus, Matthew, and Acts with the students.
They are now not so much involved with the
DORM
work, and have just 2 American teenage girls staying
with them for 1 week each month.
BOLIVIA
Mario and Helen Ponce (Cochabamba)
would appreciate
prayer
for
Ida,
who attends the local assembly regularly but was taken ill recently,
resulting in major surgery on her spine. Several weeks later she is
still unable to sit.
Pray
that her mobility would improve soon, and that she will make a full
recovery.
VENEZUELA
Alan & Sandra Turkington (Barrancas).
The new Assembly at
Barinas
has felt strong opposition and a few have “fallen away”.
Nevertheless, the Lord has continued to bless following prayer and
ministry meetings. 6 believers were baptised. Also
Barinitas
to the north is giving much joy. During Gospel meetings there 3
believers were baptised. Please
pray
for the work here and throughout Venezuela.
BRAZIL
Jeff & Denise Watson (Foz)
report
that on the Lords Day, 5th January, they are to baptise 4 people.
Please
pray
for
Dona Jacira, Dona Tereza, Aureliane,
and our
brother
Zedir.
FRANCE
William and Liz Irwin (Nantes)
– A couple have been attending the assembly regularly
and have taken part in a Bible study. Recently the husband realised
his need of salvation.
Pray
that he will come to faith in Christ, and pray for his wife, who is
a believer.
Gerry and Dorothy Seed (Nantes)
– Give thanks for the following answer to
prayer:
‘A couple of years ago the group of junior high boys (12-14 yrs.)
were a real problem in the Sunday School, making teaching difficult.
What a joy it has been to see (almost all of them) come one by one
over the past several months seeking baptism. God has answered
prayer
beyond what we expected. There is now a group of 7 teenagers
preparing for baptism (including
Matthew,
their son) Please
pray
that these young people will continue to progress in the things of
the Lord.
John and Beryl Van den Hogan (Ronoq)
ask
prayer
for 14 young people who were recently baptised, and also
prayer
for themselves as they teach the truth of God’s Word to other young
believers, helping them to apply the teaching practically to their
lives. In addition,
pray
for
John
and
Beryl
as they teach Christian Counselling to a group of 20 believers each
Saturday.
Alain & Christine Monclair (Quimper Region)
ask for
prayer
for unity in the
Quimper
church. Bringing together people of varied backgrounds is not
simple, and small numbers tend to magnify differences.
NORWAY.
Nat
& Jennifer Rodgers (Skien)
ask
prayer
for:
· The
churches with whom we enjoy fellowship and teaching.
· The
prison and Emmaus ministry now more than ever before, reaching out
to many nationalities.
· That
God will continue to raise up more Norwegian Bible teachers.
· Wisdom
and freshness in presenting God’s Word.
· Our
new government under the leadership of
Erna Solberg,
and Chancellor of Exchequer
Siv Jensen
and
their cabinet.
