MALAWI
Stephen Harper
expects to return to Malawi in
February,
continuing distribution of 2014 calendars. Circulation of “Exploring
God’s Word Gospel Magazine”
has now increased to 75,000, 6-page copies, and is
being printed by the Revival Movement Association in Belfast. The
magazines are now being distributed in most regions of the country,
but the circulation is still only a drop in the ocean. Please
pray
for them.
TANZANIA
Steve
& Gill Davis (Dar-es-Salaam).
Back in November they started a new Kids’ Club on the
upper floor of the WWT facility each Friday afternoon. The response
from the local children was overwhelming. They are now regularly
seeing almost 200 children each week (sometimes more during the
school holidays!) who arrive eager to participate and hear Bible
stories. They are very well behaved and need to be because managing
such large numbers would otherwise prove difficult.
They
have exciting news regarding the
Kinzudi
assembly. Over the past ten years, the assembly has been saving to
buy a plot of land which it could own and on which it could build a
meeting hall. Land prices have gone through the roof over this
period. However, the Lord has had the few believers in His mind, and
has supplemented their giving with His provision from His
storehouse. The assembly now has enough to purchase a plot in the
Kinzudi
village area. The assembly intends using all its available funds to
buy as big a plot as possible and then look to the Lord, in His
time, to help in constructing a building. This is a big step of
faith for a young and small company, so they ask us to
pray
for them that they may be encouraged and strengthened in their faith
as they prayerfully wait upon the Lord.
Stephen
has just tried to maintain an advisory role in the background of
this venture.
ZAMBIA
Phil and Gwen Towse
ask
prayer
for the work at
Sakeji School,
for the new students and new teachers, and that young lives would be
changed and challenged by the Scripture classes, Sunday school
lessons and dorm devotions. In addition,
pray
for
Phil
and
Gwen
as they learn the local language, that in the future they would be
able to share the Gospel in the local
Lunda
language.
Steve and Jo Grove (Chingola)
ask for
prayer
as they minister to the children at the beginning of a new school
term at
Amano Christian School.
Pray
that pupils will be open to the message of the Gospel so that as
they grow they will be able to make worthwhile choices in life.
ZIMBABWE
Deryck Jones (Bulawayo) – Pray
for the ongoing distribution of food, maize seed and other items in
Bulawayo
and
Harare.
The last distribution took place on Christmas day when 130 family
units received food and soap.
Pray
for the believers, for their needs, and for their witness to those
in the surrounding areas.
INDIA
Simon and Sarah Deveraj (Karumandorai)
ask
prayer
for all the young people recently graduated, some
having grown up at
Bethesda School and Children’s Hostel,
that they would be blessed in their future lives and be a light in
their communities.
Pray
also for those children who currently live at
Bethesda,
some having only one or no parents.
Pray
for teachers, volunteers and carers, and pray also that the children
during this time would come to know Christ.
PAKISTAN
Liz
Greig (DPG Pakistan 1981-2011)
asks
prayer
for
Murree Christian School
in Pakistan, run mainly for missionary children, for
the Lord's continuing protection over them. Also the weather at this
time of year will be harsh with limited resources for heating.
Pray
for the Lord’s continuing presence with them, as well as for the
needed teachers and staff to maintain it.
BELGIUM
Anne
Dryburgh (Kuurne)
would appreciate
prayer
as she meets with many individuals for discipleship. Recently she
has met with a young believer who asked deep spiritual questions and
has a real hunger to learn.
Pray
that this young lady would choose to feed the spiritual hunger that
she has, to live a life under the Lordship of Christ. In addition,
in
February
Anne
will meet with a small group of people who know friends struggling
in different areas and wish to be able to help them.
Pray
for this group that they would grow in the knowledge of Christ, and
be able to minister to others in need.
FRANCE
David and Brigitte Sutherland (Lyon) –
At the beginning of the year their home was broken
into whilst they were absent for only a few hours. Each room was
ransacked and items stolen.
Pray
especially for
Brigitte
and her mother who had several personal items stolen during the
robbery, and for
Brigitte’s
brother who has been recently diagnosed with cancer and is having
surgery
