The husband of Celestina, a year 1 teacher has died, and Domingos Matos, a driver and teacher, has lost his sister and her child in a motor-bike accident. LESOTHO

Mark and Malichaba West (Maseru) are making plans for a two week Holiday Bible club programme during the winter school holidays (June-July), which will be hosted by Matt Lewis and a team from Wales. The first week will be in the capital city, Maseru, where they are expecting 400 children to attend the 4-day programme. The second week will be in the remote, mountainous region of Mokhotlong. This will be the first time a Holiday Bible Club has been held here, but they anticipate another large attendance. Pray that the weather will be favourable, and that many children may come to know the Saviour during these two weeks.

MALAWI

Jonathan and Ruth Newell Jonathan’s new book ‘Fear on Every Side’ (a discipleship book in the form of a novel with detailed discussion questions at the end of each chapter) has gone to the printers.  Pray that it will be attractively published and be used by the Lord to touch many lives across Africa and elsewhere.

In addition, the latest edition of the Challenge newspaper has been completed. Pray for Ananda who has been involved at each stage of the distribution process of this issue, so that he will be able to take over the work from Jonathan. Pray for Isaac Chikwawa, the office manager who has been invited to speak at various secondary schools and churches across the city on behalf of the newspaper, hopefully raising the profile of the paper, and help people to understand its purpose and potential for evangelism.

TANZANIA

Steve and Gill Davies (Dar-es-Salaam) - 'A' and her two children, ill and desperately hungry, approached the WWT (Day Care Centre), and since receiving help, have attended assembly meetings each Sunday.  Pray that this family would respond to the call of the Gospel.

ZAMBIA

Dominic and Ethne Bourn ask prayer for Chengelo School – 25 years since it began as a ‘missionary/local Zambians & farmers’ School ’; it is now being forced to keep in line with other International Schools, many of which began as missionary schools but are now secular. The great need is for Christian teachers is to remain in senior positions in these schools, to be God’s salt & light, in an ever-increasing secular world.

Julie-Rachel Elwood asks prayer for the Lusaka Gospel Hall, who have numerous outreach programmes in the community, and for 'K' taxi driver in the area) who plays Christian music whilst driving around.  Pray that the words of these hymns will touch his heart. In addition, Julie-Rachel gives thanks that after a year, she is in receipt of her work permit.

Pray for safety in travel, adjustments to the different culture, for safety whilst there, and that many would be challenged and blessed by the teaching.

JAPAN

Ronnie and Anne Cairns (Japan 1960-2012) have just returned from a trip to Japan, encouraging believers and preaching in Ashiya. During their stay they met Dr Minao and his wife Keiko, and they ask prayer for this couple’s faithful witness as they gather isolated believers around the city for encouragement and ministry, and give others the opportunity to hear the Gospel.

PAKISTAN

Harry and Stephanie Lannon (Murree Christian School)Pray for the schools they are involved with in remote areas. The remoteness means long and sometimes dangerous journeys.  Pray for safety in travel and that these journeys will give opportunities for literature distribution, and sharing the Gospel.

Denise has had the opportunity to read scripture and pray with Dn.SPray that she too will come to faith in Christ.

Pray that this family will come to faith in Christ, and pray for Liz as she spends time with them. In addition, pray that Liz will have further opportunities to speak to Olivia, a young mother from the local school, after giving her a Bible.

They would also appreciate prayer for the young people in Nantes, who meet regularly for games, meals and Bible study.  A great encouragement to the 4 leaders has been that looking back many of the young people who have passed through these youth meetings are now serving the Lord in different ministries within the churches. Pray for these current young people, that they would walk with the Lord, especially those who are struggling to keep going in the faith.

Margaret Davis (Caen) - 5000 envelopes containing Child Evangelism literature, plus a John's Gospel and an invitation to the concerts at the Lighthouse  with a French Christian singer in June, have recently been distributed. This will coincide with the "Fête de la musique" which is an annual occasion of the summer solstice, held all over France. Pray that despite this many will attend the concert at the Lighthouse.
