ANGOLA
Brian
Howden’s next visit to Angola is planned for the
10th
July when both
Debbie and Luke hope to be
with him, plus Mike Ramsey is
also hoping to go to help in some practical work in the house at
Camundambala. Please remember
in prayer.
LESOTHO
Mark and
Malichaba West (Maseru) – The ‘Jesus
and Me’ Bible readings, which are produced in-house, are
bilingual and very popular in schools.
Prayer is asked for willing
volunteers to take these readings to remote schools, and that they
will be an effective tool in helping children spend time with the
Lord daily.
MALAWI
Jonathan
and Ruth Newell (Blantyre) -
Jonathan would value prayer
as he seeks to find genuine Christ- honouring testimonies, to
include in the
Challenge Newspaper. He also requests prayer that provision
will be made for the publication and printing of his recent book ‘Fear
on Every Side’, a novel with discussion questions and
Biblical references at the end of every chapter.
John
and Priscilla Finegan (Zomba) – Many of the street children
they knew in 2006 that were malnourished physically, emotionally and
spiritually are today vibrant, energetic and confident due to the
Care Programme.
Prayer is asked that these
children will come to faith. There are now 62, of whom 40 attend
primary school regularly.
TANZANIA
Ron
and Maria Cunningham (Moshi) - Recently
Ron spoke with district
evangelist Emmanuel Hangu,
working in the Manyara Region some 200 miles North-west of
Moshi.
Emmanuel was sharing with him
how the assembly in Katesh
town held an open-air meeting close to the village of
Wareta, 10 miles away, which
is very close to a dam that many assemblies had helped by
re-building a damaged wall. The believers wanted to have an open-air
meeting in this sprawling village and so they went around the dam
visiting a number of villages, giving out tracts, and making contact
with the people. At the end of the open-air meeting 13 people made
professions of faith. The Assembly at
Katesh have decided to visit
this village once a month to hold meetings and encourage these new
believers in the Lord. They would value
prayer for this outreach.
ZAMBIA
Please continue to remember in
prayer Barry & Rachel Haigh
who have returned to Nyangombe
for 4 months.
Please remember also
Marina (3) and
Coral (16 months) Erikson who
lost their parents in a plane accident while serving the Lord at
Chitokoloki Mission Hospital.
At
Chitokoloki Hospital a Gospel message is given each morning
over the hospital intercom. Hymns are sung and the Gospel message is
given to those in the wards. Pray
that many lives will be touched and that this ministry will
continue.
Pray
for Wilma Geddis (Loloma) as
she teaches Scripture in two schools, that many young people will
benefit from this ministry, and that there will be opportunities for
Scripture classes in other schools in
Kabompo. There are 70 schools
in the district.
JAPAN
David
and Esther Dexter – prayer
would be appreciated for the next prison visit on
10th July, for the three
prisoners who attended the last meeting, that others might join, and
for the continued safety and protection in this work for those who
visit.
BAHAMAS
Mark and
Carol Lacey – Please continue to
pray for
The New Haven. There has been
some interesting and encouraging feedback from their website, and
prayer is asked that this
might be a means of testimony, and that those seeking help will come
to faith through the evidence of changed lives through The Haven
programme, and the various articles posted.
Prayer is also asked as they
follow up on those making inquiries.
CANADA
Please
remember Peter Smith and his
return visit to Whitehorse,
Yukon. A room has been booked at the Canada Games Centre for 4
consecutive mornings and evenings. (Mon.
2nd - Thurs. 5th July, DV) Children's Meetings will be held
in the mornings and a Gospel Meeting at night.
Andreas will be helping in
the preaching.
He would greatly appreciate our
prayers now for newspaper
adverts (on 4 different days) in 2 local newspapers, plus
invitations that have been sent to all those who signed our 'Guest
Book' during the last series. He is also hoping that the local radio
stations will broadcast the details.
Above all please
pray that precious souls will be prepared of the Lord to
attend and that Andreas and
Peter will also be prepared
by God's Spirit to have the right messages for them.
PERU
Richard
and Pam Harknett (Trujillo) -
Prayer is asked for the Couple’s Bible Study taking place on
Fridays, led by Pablo and
Sarah Cenepo, that it would
produce lasting fruit in the lives and marriages of all who attend.
In addition, they ask prayer
for the next full-time module of the
Bible Institute beginning on 2nd July.
Pray for teachers and
students, for the students’ safety in travel and that the time would
be a blessing to both them and their home churches.
BELGIUM
Anne
Dryburgh (Kuurne) - Pray
for Anne as she meets
individual ladies for conversation and Bible study. Recently, she
has been meeting with a 20 year-old woman, who, having attended
church most of her life, has not made any commitment to Christ.
Pray that as they talk and as
Anne reads through Scriptures with her, she will come to faith.
REPUBLIC
OF IRELAND
David and Kay Stevens would appreciate
prayer as they become
accustomed to city life in Co. Dublin and look to the Lord for
guidance in decisions they need to make in the future.
Andrew and
Lorna Burt (Enniscorthy) - On
28th July – 11th August 2 weeks of summer outreach will take
place, comprising of a children’s club, youth club and various other
events and literature distribution.
Pray that God will direct them as they plan and prepare, that
He will equip and enthuse the church to get involved, including a
number of the young people from the youth club.
NORWAY
Pray for:
· Blessing
on Nat Rogers prison and
Bible teaching ministry and Jennifer
Rogers personal evangelism.
· Margaret
Hewitt and her family as two of her son’s are struggling with
serious health issues.
SPAIN
Jesus and
Helen Ortiz (Soria) – A ten-day family camp
begins on 27th June, during
which a mission worker from
Tayikistan will lead Bible studies, and a married couple from
Ecuador will oversee the children and teens work.
Pray that many young people
will take part, for those who teach, and that all those attending
would be responsive to the Gospel messages.
