IRAN
Many
newspapers report that an Iranian Christian, could be executed by
next Wednesday for refusing to deny the Lord.
Youcef
Nardarkhani was born to Muslim parents but did not practise
the faith and then converted to Christianity when he was 19.
He became a member of the Protestant
evangelical Church of Iran and held services in "home churches" in
the town of Rasht.
In 2009, he fell foul of the authorities
when he challenged the law which insists that all schools should
teach Islam.
He was arrested in October 2009 and a year
later was sentenced to death for apostasy on a charge which is
underpinned by sharia law.
Nardarkhani pleaded not guilty, partially
on the grounds that from puberty he was never a practising Muslim,
and thus had not renounced his faith. But he has denied that
Muhammad was the prophet of God.
He is reported to have said, 'Repent means
to return. What should I return to? To the blasphemy that I had
before my faith in Christ?'
ARGENTINA

be challenged by what they learn.

group study on the importance of evangelism, covering six weeks.
FRANCE
Graham and

Bible/Bookshop in Marseille (La

also value prayer for two
important changes in their ministry ‘Voice
of the Gospel’. A couple are to be trained in order to take
over the studio recording side of the ministry for the radio
programmes, and putting the Bible correspondence courses on-line so
they can be carried out on the internet.

asked for the bookshop/drop in centre where people go for a chat and
receive free literature. Up to 15 New Testaments are accepted weekly
with an invitation to meetings. Pray
also for the women’s Bible study and English lessons.

Jesus and
Helen Ortiz - Two years ago the assembly in
Soria were given permission

take the effort in El Burgo
