ANGOLA
We are asked to
pray that one day people will
have the NT Scriptures in
Chokwe to
listen to.
KENYA
John
and Yokey Roberts (Nairobi) would value
prayer as they prepare for
furlough in June. During
their absence they need someone to occupy their flat.
Prayer is also asked for the
renewal of John’s entry
permit.
MALAWI
Stephen
and Gail Harper (Thondwe)
would appreciate prayer as they prepare to return to the UK and that
Philip (now aged 16) would
quickly settle into social/school/assembly life. They have much work
to do on their rented accommodation before they leave so that the
premises will be secure whilst they are away. They ask
prayer that the work would be
completed before their departure in
June.
ZAMBIA
Debbie
Scott (Chingola) asks prayer
for the work at
Amano School, as they seek to not only provide a quality
primary and secondary education for the students, but to encourage
them to know the Lord.
Barry and
Rachel Haigh would value
prayer as they prepare for their visit to Zambia
5th June until the end of
September. They have a full programme of ministry, children’s camps
and Bible schools. Also Barry
is holding a week of Lunda language schooling for mission workers
who want to learn the language.
THAILAND
David and
Maureen Wood (Chiang Mai) -
Prayer would be appreciated for a replacement facilities
assistant at
Grace International School.
Andrew, David’s Thai assistant, has worked well with David
for 18 months but is moving to Bangkok for family reasons. Next year
David’s role will change and
this will require the new person to be the acting head of the
department.
During June David is hoping
to oversee two building projects.
Prayer would be valued for this.
Peter
and Peggy Ferry (Phuket) -
Peter (left) will be flying to Malaysia
1st June for a series of
Bible teaching meetings and would value
prayer. He has meetings
every day from 1st-9th,
sometimes morning and evening, in addition to speaking three times
on Sunday.
BAHAMAS
Mark and
Carol Lacey would appreciate
prayer as they have been under considerable pressure since
the beginning of the year dealing with ill health.
BOLIVIA
Kenny and
Claudia Holt (Trinidad) –
Prayer is asked for Freddy
(15) who is meeting with Ken
on a weekly basis for discipleship Bible study and prayer.
10 teenagers have started a series of 7
training sessions, in preparation to support the Bible clubs in
July, in a leadership capacity.
Prayer is requested for them.
CANADA
Peter
Smith (left) asks for
prayer for the Lord’s
guidance with regards to 3 tent missions.
He reports that
PBS
Lessons
are now available in Eastern Europe, across Africa and in
India. Lessons can now be used on smart phones and i-pads! New
translations have recently commenced in French, Italian, Spanish and
German with work about to begin in Ethiopia and Croatia.
FRANCE
Graham &
Alison Black are happy to announce
that Gaëlle
was baptised on
Sunday 22nd May.
She is a real encouragement, coming through for the Lord having come
right through the
Alpha course on her own. Her
testimony was
crystal clear and one of the best
they have heard in a long time. Her parents and other members of her
family and friends were there and the hall was packed, so many heard
a clear presentation of the Gospel, probably for the first time.
At the
Voice of the Gospel ministry more
programmes have now been recorded by the presenter and will be ready
for sending out soon to the 50 or so radio stations throughout the
French speaking world. Please
pray
that they will be a blessing to many.
Much activity
and preparation is going on for the visit of
Luis Palau
to Marseille at
the end of June
beginning of July. Because of
where the event will be held, a very busy seafront spot, many
thousands of people just milling around, run the “risk” of hearing
the Gospel. They would ask us to
pray
for all the preparations and that everything will be ready for the
event. They
would particularly ask prayer for Counsellor Training Sessions that
will take place from 1st
to 4th
June. Graham will be very heavily
involved in the training and there have already been a few set backs
with literature that is needed for these sessions being held up in
one way or another.
ITALY
Adino and Eleanor
Ricossa (Mombello Monferrato) will
answer questions on the 1st June at the
Brusasco Primary
School. Please
pray
that as Adino
responds, the door to present the Gospel will be open. Each child
will be presented with a New Testament.
NORWAY
Nat and
Jennifer Rodgers (Skien).
Nat has been encouraged with
his recent Bible studies in the prison. Having a mixed group, with 6
different nationalities, most of the discussion is in English.
However, all have been aware of the up-to-date relativity of the
Scriptures as they face their day to day experiences in prison. One
of the most encouraging aspects of the studies is that a number of
female prisoners have a regular Bible study on their own each
evening, also a prayer time! Please
pray for these men and women, their fellow prisoners, and for
the Bible studies.
