ANGOLA
Brian
Howden is flying back to Angola at
8PM on Tuesday 4th May from
Heathrow, arriving at 4:30am in Luanda the next morning.
Jon Singleton is going with
him.
Please
pray for safety on dangerous roads that they might arrive
safely in Saurimo. Please
pray too for the occasions
when we have to pass through "controls", that they will been given
wisdom and grace to deal with the "requests" that come from the
authorities. There is one Immigration official in Xandel that
particularly seems to be there when
Jon passes that way and says he needs a "missionary visa"
which doesn't exist! It would be helpful if he wasn't on duty when
we pass that way!
TANZANIA
Allan and
Jacqui McKinnon (Moshi) ask us to
pray that
Lucia, one of the older girls
from Moshi Christian Children’s
Centre, will be granted a visa to come to the UK. Her
application has already been refused twice and she is making a final
appeal. She is a Christian and wants to meet some of her sponsors in
UK churches. Allan and
Jacqui also request
prayer for themselves as they
consider their future plans.
ZAMBIA
Eric and
Margaret McCaughren (Kitwe) have just begun a weekly series
of evangelistic Bible studies, taking place on
Fridays. They request
prayer that believers will
bring along their unsaved friends and neighbours.
JAPAN
Noel
Hamilton (Koshigaya) requests
prayer for the English Coffee House outreach in Koshigaya
Hall and the English Bible Classes at
Dokkyo and
Sophia
Universities, which are
starting up at the beginning of May.
Pray also for the
Gideon New
Testaments which will be distributed to the students.
ARGENTINA
Jim and
Betty Burnett (Parana) would value
prayer for a new venture. He
and a fellow-worker have just signed a contract to produce a weekly
30-minute TV programme on Channel 9 in
Paraná. The broadcasts will
reach around 2 million people and will consist of interviews,
testimonies, music and other items.
Pray that they will be able to sustain this ministry beyond
the initial three-month period. The first programme will be recorded
on 6th May.
PERU
Luis and
Anne-Laure Mostacero (Trujillo)
have recently restarted home Bible studies after a break of three
months. There are about 12 people in the group and
prayer is requested that many
of them will come to know the Lord during this year.
ALBANIA
Peter
Hedley is back in Albania, preaching and teaching and would
value prayer. One cause for
concern is the congregation in Vlore.
Since the elders resigned, no recognized group of men has replaced
them. There are about six or seven responsible brothers but after
three years they are still waiting on the Lord in
prayer to appoint Scriptural
leadership. Please pray.
UNITED KINGDOM
Ian
Campbell is in Perth
this week for school visits and 3 evening CREATION talks. Later this
month he has a week of Children’s Meetings at
Heswell on the Wirral.
Isaiah
45:18 (Sheringham Assembly) - UPDATE
They truly believe that God chose the
text. No matter what was looked at or message attempted it always
came back to Isa
45:18. They also believe that the exercise was specifically
for the newspapers rather than busses or television etc. The problem
with buses is that one can't advertise on enough busses country wide
at a reasonable cost and reach a similar number of people as the
newspaper.
So, they are now waiting for the Lord to
tell them what happens next. Keep on praying!
