TANZANIA
Ron
and Maria Cunningham (Moshi)
report that they have just finished a week
of children’s meetings at
Kahe
assembly and there was a daily average of
174 children attending. All were well
behaved, listened attentively to the Bible
lessons and learnt their Bible memory
verses. A number of parents also stood
within hearing distance. This year the
meetings started later than usual, so the
children going along were mostly those
of primary school age. Please
pray
for God’s blessing on His Word. In addition,
15 believers from
Kahe
and Mawala
are to be baptised in one of the large
irrigation canals on
25th October,
and prayer
would be valued for the gospel witness on
that occasion.
JAPAN
Ken and
Christine Cowell report that it was a
joy to witness
Mrs
Nakajima’s baptism on Sunday and it
was clear from her expressions that she was
full of joy in obeying the Lord in baptism.
The first part of the
Elijah Prayer Ministry School went
well and many believers were helped and
blessed. Please
pray
for a gospel concert being held at a
community centre on 26th October.
THAILAND
Peter Ferry
will be in
Nan Province,
in the north of the country, for meetings
from
27th-29th October. These meetings are
for Christian leaders and
Peter
will have six sessions of teaching over the
three days. Please
pray
for the Lord’s help for him in this
ministry, as well as for safety of travel.
FRANCE
Mike and
Alison Packer (Laval) have sent an
update on
Lara’s progress. At one time, she
seemed to be better, even with another
diagnosed tumour, but recently has gone
rapidly downhill. She is paralysed on one
side and now is only able to communicate
using signs. She hardly eats as it is
difficult for her to swallow. She has
withdrawn from everyone. The family are
obviously devastated and seem to be
preparing for the Lord’s call. Please uphold
them in
prayer, particularly
Lara’s
parents,
Fabienne and Peter, her sister
Juliette
and neighbours
Lucette and
Daniel. Each one is exhausted,
physically and mentally.
Lara
loves the Lord but it is undoubtedly very
difficult for her and those around her.
