Prayer Requests for Week Commencing: 19-03-12

The following information comes mainly from the Echoes weekly prayer bulletin and further details can be found on their web site. Other prayer requests have come from direct communication with the missionary involved.  The prayer requests listed here are, as far as is sensibly practical, for activities that are happening on the particular week. A list of previous weekly Missionary Prayer requests can be found here.

The Assembly also, most months, publishes a monthly Missionary Prayer Newsletter, for prayer requests on a longer time-scale. Click here for the last monthly prayer newsletter.

MALAWI

John and Priscilla Finegan would value prayer as they leave for Malawi  today, 21st March.

TANZANIA

Ron and Maria Cunningham return to Tanzania on 26th March. Pray for a safe journey to Moshi. During their break, Maria has had a good rest and medical care. Pray that she and Ron will continue to be active in the Lord’s service.

BOLIVIA

Mario and Helen Ponce (Cochabamba) – Please pray for the nine people who took the step of baptism on Sunday 18th March, but especially for Rosa, as her husband Bludymere was opposed to this and Rosa had considered cancelling.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

Noel and Liza Mc McMeekin  (Cootehill) continue the Postal Bible Prize-giving at Clonmel (20th), Cashel and Lucan (21st), Carrigaline (22nd), Fermoy and Mallow (23rd). Pray that they will enjoy safety of travel as they visit various venues over the coming weeks.

ITALY

Giovanni and Hannah Donato  (Siena) ask prayer for the preparations of the GBU (student Christian Union) mission week in Siena, 26th-30th March. Students and staff from UCCF (University Christian Union) Oxford University will be assisting them during this week. During the day questionnaires with a flyer advertising the week’s events will be given to students, and the Oxford group will teach English using an evangelistic Bible study. Pray that many students in Siena will have the opportunity to be introduced to the gospel through this ministry.

Latest tests reveal that Stan Cochrane (Alessandria) Senior Worker) needs a triple bypass. The surgery is due this week and his stay in hospital likely to be about three weeks. Please continue in prayer for Stan and Tina.

SPAIN

Continued prayer would be valued for the pilot scheme ‘Learning to Lead’ course which Ken Barrett (Madrid) is teaching, which has two sessions remaining. Pray that these materials will be a useful tool for leadership.

Give thanks for a good book launch for two books from the Madrid Bible Teaching Centre’s publications commission at a local Madrid bookshop last Saturday. It is hoped that a distribution of the Muller/Groves film will be completed by the end of March. The most urgent need in Spain is rain. It has not rained for six months over the winter and the situation is the worst it has been for 60 years.
