ETHIOPIA
John McQuoid,
who formerly worked in
Ethiopia,
is making a return visit from
14th
November to 4th December. During this
first week he will visit
Batie,
where assembly work began.
Batie
and district is 90% muslim, rural and poor,
and the assembly there is small and
struggling, having suffered many setbacks
over the years.
Pray
that the Christians will be encouraged in
the Lord and find new boldness in their
witness.
ZAMBIA
ECHOES report that
short-term worker
Helen Hindson has now been
repatriated to Northern Ireland and is in
hospital in Belfast. Please
pray
for her as she continues to recuperate.
PAKISTAN
Liz
Greig is staying in
Faisalabad
this week and would appreciate
prayer.
She hopes to visit the Boys’ Hostel and
Khush Hal School and to go out to four
villages in the area, as well as catching up
with a number of other contacts. She will
also attend the wedding of Shaheen, with
whom she shared a Sunday school class and
the Girls’ Bible Class for many years.
Please pray
that she will be kept safe during this time.
MEXICO
Give thanks that
Pamela
Jewitt’s permanent visa has been
granted and she is now awaiting delivery of
the
new visa book. She asks us to continue to
pray
for folk in the
Tabasco
area, where there is a real risk of disease
and where crops are ruined. Much aid is
getting through but please
pray
for effective organisation and that all in
need will receive sufficient aid. A
landslide in
Chiapas, caused by the rains, has
killed many people.
Pray
for those affected, for the relief efforts
and that the Lord will bring some good out
of this tragedy.
BULGARIA
From
12th-20th
November,
Mike and Ros
Buckley are involved in a week of
teaching on practical family issues in a
village church in north-east Bulgaria.
Pray
that this will be an encouraging time of
fellowship together.
FRANCE
David and
Brigitte Sutherland are arranging an
outreach for families for
18th
November. A singing group called
Den-Isa, from Paris, will be there
and a number of local children will be
singing with them in a musical called ‘Bonjour
La Difference’. Around 150 people are
expected to attend. Please
pray
for the Lord’s blessing on this event.
SPAIN
Ken and
Alison Barrett request
prayer
for the
Madrid regional conference being held
on 17th and
18th November. The theme is ‘Christians
and their work’, which will be
covered in conference and workshop sessions.
Please pray
that God will speak to many through His
Word, and for good attendance by believers
from the wide range of assemblies amongst
the 16 churches in Madrid.
