FRANCE
Malcolm and
Hannah Coombes (Orange)- Recently,
they were able to take scarves, chocolate,
cakes and gospel literature in different
languages to the homeless, at the
Avignon
Christmas market. They were able to engage
in conversation with several homeless, and
give them gifts and gospel literature.
Pray
for all those who have no home to return to,
and that those who receive and read
literature given, would find hope, and seek
to know more about the Christmas message. In
addition,
pray for the believers who hold a
Bible stall in the town centre every week.
On 19-23rd
December, they will have a Children’s
Christmas & Bible stand at the market.
Pray
that many will stop and want to take
literature, and that many will come to know
Christ through this testimony.
Mike and
Alison Packer (Laval) - Praise God
for the English carol service which took
place at the weekend in
Laval.
For many it was their first assembly
attendance.
Pray for these people that they would
have been touched and challenged by the Word
of God. In addition, please
pray
that they will attend an outreach event to
be held in January entitled ‘So British’.
Allan and
Anne Kitt (Le Havre) - On
16th
December a carol service in English
is to be held at
Le Havre.
It will be the first English carol service
for several years in the area, and as many
people seem to be interested in speaking
English, they ask
prayer
that this interest will enable them to build
bridges to share the gospel.
Pray
for Allan
and Anne
as they are responsible for the
preparations.
Gerry and
Dorothy Seed (Nantes) -The assembly
is preparing for the annual Christmas
programme to be held on
15th
December, where there will be a
sketch, along with various readings and
songs. A nearby hall is being rented to
accommodate a much larger number.
Prayer
is asked that local believers will be
seeking to invite their friends and
families.
Colin and
Maureen Crow (Montpellier) would
value prayer
for the 3rd session in
Bible
training on 14th
December when
Colin
will take part in the teaching. On
23rd
December, with a grant from the city
authorities, they are preparing a Christmas
meal for around 320 poorer people in the
city of
Montpellier.
Pray
for all the organizational details still to
be set up, that the right people will
receive and accept invitations, for the
volunteers and the message given on the day,
and for a positive witness to the local
authorities through this effort.
IRELAND
Andy Shanks
(Newcastle West)
plan,
on the
16th December
to have our
Christmas gospel outreach. Please
pray, as
we begin preparation with the children and
EDGE group that many unsaved friends and
family will come along and hear the gospel.
We are also
planning on the
20th December
to have another ‘Carols
by Candlelight’
service which was greatly supported last
year. This is a wonderful opportunity for
the assembly to reach out to the community.
LOCAL
"Coffee
and Chat" - an informal meeting, on a
Wednesday morning at 10:30 am.
Carol
Service Invitation cards have been
delivered to over 600 homes in the immediate
area this week. Please pray that there will
be a positive response to these invitations
(D.V.).
