ETHIOPIA
The six-week Bible
School in
Chobi finishes this week. Give thanks
for the interest shown and for help given to
the teachers.
Pray
that all that has been said and done will be
blessed by the Lord and that the teaching
and fellowship will produce fruit to God’s
glory. Remember particularly
Kasahun
Chala, who leads the final sessions,
from
16th-21st.
MALAWI
Stephen and
Gail Harper (Thondwe) request
prayer
for the new bookshop work. They had been
promised delivery of books from Mozambique
but are disappointed to learn that the
consignment is stuck in South Africa. This
is quite a setback as they had hoped to be
open by now. Please
pray
for the quick and safe arrival of these
goods. Pray,
too, that the bookshop will prove to be a
useful point of contact for Christians and
unsaved alike.
REPUBLIC OF
IRELAND
Noel and
Liza McMeekin continue their
Postal Bible School prize-givings
this week in
Newbliss on 10th February,
Ballybay
on 11th, Cootehill on 12th, and Cashel and
Mountrath on 13th. Please
pray
for safety as they travel many miles and
especially during the hours of darkness, and
pray, too, for a sense of God’s presence and
for help for the speakers as they make known
the gospel message.
ITALY
Leo
and Angela Isac (San Minato) request
prayer
for an outreach in the church hall on
14th
February. Pray that those invited
will go along. There is still a stigma
attached to going into an evangelical hall,
and many people do not attend because they
don’t want to be seen to be associating with
evangelicals.
SPAIN
Ken and
Alison Barrett (Madrid) ask for
prayer
for Ken,
who will be out with evangelism teams in
Madrid
city centre on
11th and
12th February.
Pray
for the Lord’s provision for the ministry,
spiritual renewal among the leadership and
material help for many Latin believers on
the teams who face financial and health
hardships, so that the efficacy of the
gospel preaching might not be impaired. Give
thanks to the Lord that an
overzealous police interpretation of new
publicity laws has been curbed,
apparently by the intervention of the
Protestant Federation through the Spanish
Ministry of Justice. In addition, the
emerging leadership team in the
Alcalá
church meets over the next weekend to
think and
pray through issues, as
Ken now
remains in sole eldership in the
Alcalá
assembly. Please
pray
for wisdom and the Lord’s timing in the
steps needed to build up a more lasting
plural leadership team.
