Prayer Requests for Week Commencing 07-04-08

The following information comes mainly from the Echoes weekly prayer bulletin and further details can be found on their web site. Other prayer requests have come from direct communication with the missionary involved.  A list of previous weekly Missionary Prayer requests can be found here.

ARGENTINA

After a successful week in Patagonia giving teaching on Exodus and the Tabernacle, Bobby Jack is now off to the foothills of the Andes with his ‘Historical Jerusalem’ model. Please pray for him as he travels and pray for God’s blessing on his ministry and teaching (see Missionary Prayer request 17-03-08).

BAHAMAS

Mark and Carol Lacey request prayer for staffing needs at The Haven. Firstly, a Night Manager is required. Please pray that a national believer will be called of the Lord to fill this exacting position and that he might become a father figure to the students. Secondly, a Workshop Manager is needed. The Haven is now able to diversify to include some light industrial activity in addition to the carpentry workshop, thereby giving the students greater scope in developing their practical skills and making them more suitable for the job market after graduation. Please pray for a national believer to fill this position.

BRAZIL

James and Jenny Crawford say that the Lord has miraculously restored their son Allan following his operation and he no longer has high temperatures. However, he will need a lot of physiotherapy and is not yet able to speak clearly as he has had a tracheotomy. Please pray for his continued recovery.

FRANCE

Kim Blair (Aubagne) and Angela Isac’s (San Miniato, Italy) mother is to have her bladder removed on 11th April and prayer is requested that the operation will be successful and for her recovery.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

Noel and Liza McMeekin continue their Postal Bible School prizegivings this week in Newbridge, Kilkenny, Celbridge, Clonmel, Mallow and Clonakilty. Another heavy week, with many venues and much travelling, so please pray for safety on the roads, especially during the hours of darkness, for God’s presence at the meetings and for help for the speakers as they seek to make the gospel message known to many who are not used to hearing it.

Rosemary Sheldon (Dublin) was admitted to hospital in Dublin a week ago and it seems she has suffered a slight heart attack. She has had further tests and prayer is requested that she will receive the correct treatment and medication to help her recover quickly.

ITALY

Nesta Volle (Montespertoli) is to have tests on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to try to discover more about a problem she is having with a lack of sensitivity in her feet. Then, on Thursday, she goes to hospital in Siena regarding the cataract operation she is to have on Friday. Please pray that all will go well with the tests and the operation.

LOCAL

The monthly visit to Wheatacres residential home is planned (D.V.) for next Sunday at 5:15 pm.

Stuart Gordon (Harrogate) is the planned Gospel Speaker for next Sunday, 13th April at 6:30 am. Please pray that those who regularly come will continue to come, and God will use the occasion to draw them unto Himself.
