ZAMBIA
Jean-Luc
Hainaut’s father was called Home on
3rd October.
Jean-Luc
and Rita
were due to return to Zambia on
2nd
but due to the deterioration in
Jacques’
condition, they took the decision to
postpone their departure. Please
pray
that the Lord will sustain and comfort all
the family, especially
this Friday
when the funeral service will be
held.
Jean-Luc and
Rita
will now return to Zambia on
16th October,
arriving on 17th.
Pray
for safety of travel and the Lord’s peace
for them as they leave Belgium.
JAPAN
Ken and
Christine Cowell (Kushiro) were very
encouraged to have 13 unbelievers at their
English outreach. Please
pray
for a lady called
Tomoe and her American husband
Eric, who both come to the English
service.
Tomoe has said she wanted to talk
sometime about becoming a Christian. Her
husband is not a Christian but is
sympathetic. On the
11th October
they have a craft circle at which
Ken
will give a short message. Do
pray
that some unbelievers will attend.
THAILAND
Peter and
Peggy Ferry (Phuket) have a family
camp from
9th-11th October for which they would
value prayer.
Peter
will have two sessions of teaching in the
mornings and
Amnart will preach in the evenings.
Some of the ladies will have sessions with
the children. During the camp there will be
a baptism, when a husband and wife will be
baptised.
Peggy will not be going to the camp
as there is a lot of walking between
accommodation, dining hall and meeting room.
ARGENTINA
Dick and
Irene Robertson (Oran) are planning
the open-air Sunday school rally for the
nine Sunday schools, to be held on
12th
October. With around 350-400 children
to care for, they request
prayer
for good weather as well as for safe travel
for all who will be attending this event.
BRAZIL
Jeff and
Denise Watson (Foz) ask for
prayer
as they travel to Argentina this coming
weekend, where
Jeff
will be speaking at the assembly conference
in Posadas.
FRANCE
Colin Crow
(Montpellier) will be travelling to
visit churches in
Toulouse,
Bordeaux and Nantes between
9th and 19th
October, in order to spend time with
the leadership. He will also spend two and a
half days with the national committee in
Brittany and spend a weekend in Figeac.
Pray
for him as he ministers in these various
situations. He is also helping to organise a
retreat for workers in southern France,
which will take place later this month.
John and
Beryl van den Hogen (Roncq) are
planning a special day of women’s meetings
on 11th
October, with guest speaker
June
Richards from Manchester. They expect
over 100 women to attend from different
churches and from other regions of France.
It is hoped that this event will inspire
women to
pray for children and young people,
that they will be on fire for the Lord and
witness to their friends and families.
ITALY
Giuseppe and
Rachel Palermo (Milan) ask us to
pray
for an evangelistic concert they will be
holding next
Saturday evening.
Pray
that many will come and hear the Word of
God.
Adino
and Eleanor Ricossa (Mombello Monferrato)
ask us to
pray
for a non-stop reading of the entire Roman
Catholic Bible (73 books)
taking place this week in a Catholic church
in Rome. This has been organised by Catholic
leaders and will be broadcast live on
television and on the Internet. People of
all faiths and backgrounds will be taking
part as readers.
Pray
that this event will create an interest in
the Word of God.
