DEMOCRATIC
REPUBLIC OF CONGO
Mary Ratter
(Katoka) advises that 17 young people
were baptised a week ago at a nearby
assembly, and 13 evangelists have requested
Sunday school material for their villages.
Give thanks for these encouragements.
MALAWI
Jonathan and
Ruth Newell (Blantyre) and the family
have settled back well into life in Malawi.
They were delighted that the fellowship at
Bethel Chapel had grown in their absence and
that Greyson
and Beatrice Maliri have proved their
faithfulness in leading the church. Give
thanks that Jonathan’s trip to Australia was
a blessing and an encouragement.
ZAMBIA
Special
prayer
is requested for
Philip Cole
(Chingola), who was recently involved
in a road accident in which a man died.
Police are carrying out investigations.
Pray
for the relatives of the deceased man and
for Phil
and Debbie
as they go through this difficult
experience.
PAKISTAN
Liz Greig (Ghari-Habibullah)
says there is an urgent need for
doctors at
Kunhar Christian Hospital.
Pray
that someone will be found soon, even if it
is just to cover
Dr Haroon
while he takes a much-needed holiday.
Pray
also for Liz,
who will be giving the Bible studies at a
nurses’ conference from
15th to 17th
October. Her subject is ‘Worship’.
FRANCE
Alan and
Valerie Kyle (Dunjerque) mention that
the
Onésime bookshop in Dunkerque is in
need of someone to coordinate the work. The
current worker is reluctant to leave before
a replacement can be found.
Pray
for this need.
NORWAY
Give thanks that
one of the prisoners whom
Nat Rodgers
(Skien)visits
has become a Christian.
‘B’
has been studying the Bible for a number of
years, but finally made a decision after
reading a tract about the cross. Please
pray
for him as he begins his Christian life, and
for the other prisoners, a number of whom
are depressed because of their
circumstances.
SPAIN
Jesus and
Helen Ortiz (Soria) request
prayer
for a special evangelistic outreach from
7th to 15th
October, with a visiting speaker from
South Africa. Meetings will be held in
Soria, El
Burgo and Almazan, with the theme ‘Turning
from idols to serve the true and living God’.
LEBANON
Give thanks that
Jonathan
Dieter (Beirut)
obtained his residence permit (See
October Missionary Prayer Newsletter)
last Friday, without any questions or
complications arising. He didn’t even have
to pick it up, as it was brought to the
school for him!
