REPUBLIC OF
SOUTH AFRICA
Paul
and Dorothy Grieve (Murchison) would
value prayer
for the second week of gospel tent meetings, near the town
of Port
Shepstone, where meetings have been
held from time to time. The attendance tends
to fluctuate but usually there are several
unsaved present at each meeting. A tavern
nearby sometimes brings noisy music to bear
on their efforts to preach the Word of God,
so please
pray that this may not be too great a
distraction. Various members of the assembly
are scheduled to give testimonies and bring
clear gospel messages, and all would value
prayer
that they might know the help of God and see
His hand in salvation.
JAPAN
David
Dexter (Miyazaki) has been approved
as a prison chaplain. His first official
meeting is mid-June, but he will be going
with Al Juve
to the prison for a teaching session on the
4th, so please
pray
that God will work through these
opportunities and use His Word.
PAKISTAN
Liz
Greig has appealed for medical staff
to come and help out at
Kunhar Christian Hospital while
Dr Haroon
Lal Din and his wife
Miriam
are on sabbatical leave. There is an urgent
need for doctors and nurses, especially from
July onwards, when they will only have one
lady doctor at the hospital. Please
pray
that the needed staff will be forthcoming.
Pray,
too, that
Haroon and
Miriam
will benefit from their time away.
David and
Maureen Wood (Murree) ask us to
pray
that visas will be granted quickly for
teaching staff and gap-year students who
will be joining them at
Murree
for the next school year.
FRANCE
Yannick and
Margaret Ollivier (Quimper Region)
recently visited a lady who is in hospital
suffering from severe depression. She had
made a decision for the Lord about 16 years
ago, but had not made progress in her
Christian faith. She told her sister, who
attends an evangelical church in Paris, that
she would appreciate a visit from a pastor.
Yannick
and Margaret
were able to
pray for her during this first visit.
Please pray
for wisdom as they try to help this lady.
Her name is
Leonie and she has two children aged
14 and 13.
REPUBLIC OF
IRELAND
Colin and
Rosemary Sheldon (Dublin) say that
over the next few weeks a number of gospel
magazines will be distributed to the homes
surrounding the assembly. A number of
workers in the country will carry out a
similar exercise in their areas, so please
pray
for blessing to follow these outreach
efforts.
ITALY
David and
Marion Mead (Rivanazzano) ask
prayer
for four young people who are to be baptised
at
Pravernara on
7th June.
NORWAY
Nat and
Jennifer Rodgers continue to request
prayer
for the teaching
Nat
will give at a family camp, this coming
weekend, 6-8th of June, with the Bergen
Assembly. These camps are normally well
attended by believers and non-believers, as
well as many young people. Please
pray
for the Lord’s help for
Nat
and that many will be blessed as they hear
the teaching given from God’s Word.
SPAIN
Kath
Wickham (Valencia) will be going into
hospital on
5th June for major heart surgery.
Please remember her and
Terry
during this anxious time and also during the
recuperation period, which is expected to
last several months.
Prayer
is also requested for a solution to the need
for more space at their local church. They
are planning a complete refurbishment as a
temporary measure.
LOCAL
Visit to a local Senior Citizens home,
Wheatacres, on Sunday at 5:15 pm in Redcar.
Andrew
Fenwick (Harrogate)
is planned to be with us this coming Sunday
evening for the preaching of the Gospel.
