Prayer Requests for Week Commencing    01-08 - 2011

The following information comes mainly from the Echoes weekly prayer bulletin and further details can be found on their web site. Other prayer requests have come from direct communication with the missionary involved.  The prayer requests listed here are, as far as is sensibly practical, for activities that are happening on the particular week. A list of previous weekly Missionary Prayer requests can be found here.

The Assembly also, most months, publishes a monthly Missionary Prayer Newsletter, for prayer requests on a longer time-scale. Click here for the last monthly prayer newsletter.

JAPAN

David and Esther Dexter – David would value prayer for prison visits on 2nd August and again 30th August. There is another typhoon warning for weekend 6th AugustPray that this will not affect their travelling up North to help with the relief work there.

BOLIVIA

Kenny and Claudia Holt – The 5-Day Clubs went well with an average of 108 per day attending in Trinidad-Beni and 44 per day in the village of San Pedro.  Please pray for all the children who attended.

BRAZIL

Jeff & Denise Watson (Foz) - The family has settled back in at home following furlough and have a renewed and refreshed vision for their work. They have been making visits to the assembly members to catch up with each family. They ask for prayer for the believers in the assembly to continue to grow in their relationship with the Lord, for M (one of the member’s husbands) to come to faith, and for the general work that there is to be done (literature distribution, English lessons, music lessons, and outreach).

PERU

Luis and Anne-laure Mostacero  (Trujillo) ask prayer for the National Youth retreat in Ica and for those attending a CEF Bible school teachers training course, both taking place this week 1st-5th August.

FRANCE

David and Brigitte Sutherland (Arras) – Prayer is asked for A (21yrs), who after being given a New Testament by a Gideon, and enquiring further of a fellow student (who happened to be Youth Group Leader at the assembly), became a Christian. She will be joining the Youth camp in August. Pray for her in her new walk with the Lord.

Allan and Anne Kitt would value prayer as their full-time ministry in Villefrance comes to an end in 2 weeks and their relocation to Le Havre. In addition they would appreciate prayer for Allan’s Mum, his step-father (94yrs) has died in hospital after having surgery. Please remember the family in your prayers.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

Andy and Gillian Shanks (Newcastle West) - give thanks for a good day at the Dungarvon show, County Waterford Thursday 28th July when literature was handed out and there were good conversations.  They ask prayer for one particular contact, M. In addition prayer would be appreciated for their daughter Anna (6yrs) who broke her arm in 3 places whilst playing in the local park and spent two days in hospital. She has a follow up appointment 8th August. Please pray for a full recovery.

ITALY

Giovanni and Hannah Donato (Siena) – the “Christianity Explored” meetings have ended and prayer is asked that the many non-Christians, who have studied the Bible and attended other GBU meetings throughout the year, would continue their search for meaning in life – that can only be met in the Lord Jesus.

In addition, prayer would be valued for Giovanni’s Mum who has to undergo another 8 months of chemo.

ROMANIA

Tim and Jenny Gooding (Cluj) would value prayer for Tim’s parents who are both quite unwell.
