GOD IS FAITHFUL

He is faithful ..         Heb 10:23

God is faithful -        1 Cor 1:9

If God is so faithful to us, we ought to be faithful to Him. We are dependent upon Him for grace to hold fast our profession. If He were unfaithful, we would not have the strength to do so. But this He never does.

Perhaps we need to be reassured of God’s faithfulness towards us. Our many failures to be true to Him may cause us to question if He remains faithful to us. If troubled by such thoughts, it is good for us to rest on the fact that His faithfulness depends not on what we are, but on who He is. Since He is the God of truth, He is utterly reliable and trustworthy!

Our faith may be tried, but He never forgets, never fails and never falters. Our hearts may be fearful for what lies ahead, but we can rest upon His faithfulness.

It is a great comfort to know that “the Lord changes not” and that in Him we have a High Priest who is “touched with (has compassion upon or suffers with) the feeling of our infirmities”. We can “therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Heb 4:15-16).

Many are the wanderings of our hearts, but we are kept by His faithfulness, not by our own efforts. God’s faithfulness is great indeed.
