Chrissie
Mulindabigwi (Kigali) reports that a
graduation ceremony is being held on
1st June
for 68 older women who have graduated
from the
Numeracy and Literacy programme in
the refugee camp at
Ingarama.
Please pray
that these women will now begin to read
Biblical truths for themselves.
REPUBLIC OF
SOUTH AFRICA
Paul
and Dorothy Grieve (Murchison) would
value prayer
for two weeks of gospel tent meetings,
starting this week. The assembly has
arranged to hold these in an area riddled
with vice and drug addiction, near the town
of Port
Shepstone, where meetings have been
held from time to time. The attendance tends
to fluctuate but usually there are several
unsaved present at each meeting. A tavern
nearby sometimes brings noisy music to bear
on their efforts to preach the Word of God,
so please
pray that this may not be too great a
distraction. Various members of the assembly
are scheduled to give testimonies and bring
clear gospel messages, and all would value
prayer
that they might know the help of God and see
His hand in salvation.
JAPAN
Ken and
Christine Cowell (Kushiro) had the
joy of seeing two people profess faith over
the weekend. One of these was a lady who had
been to the church previously to seek help
with a problem. The other was a man who was
attending the Sunday service for the first
time, having been brought along by a
believer. He confessed faith following a
conversation with
Hiro,
the full-time worker.
Pray
also for the women’s Craft Circle on
31st May,
which is another form of outreach.
CANADA
Peter Smith
is this week having Children's Meetings in
Charlton, N.
Ontario. In the past anywhere
between 30-50 children have come along and
there has always been two or three
interested adults too. Please
pray that some new contacts will be
made and that those who have come in the
past will return and that we shall see the
Lord reach parents again.
FRANCE
David and
Sheena Buchan ask
prayer
for this
week, which is particularly busy with
Discovery groups. Please
pray
that the ten adults who attend on
Thursday
would be prepared spiritually by God to
receive the message.
NORWAY
Nat and
Jennifer Rodgers request
prayer
for the teaching
Nat
will give at family camps, this coming
weekend, 30th May-1st June, not far from
Haugesund.
These camps are normally well attended by
believers and non-believers, as well as many
young people. Please
pray
for the Lord’s help for
Nat
and that many will be blessed as they hear
the teaching given from God’s Word.
LOCAL
Ian Campbell
is planned to be with us this coming Sunday
evening for the preaching of the Gospel.
