DEMOCRATIC
REPUBLIC of CONGO
Mary
Ratter (Katoka) asks for
prayer for the following:
¨ Pray
for the leaders of the assemblies in the
Katoka area that they will
be united as they look to the future.
¨ Pray
that Satan will not be able to make the loss of
Willie Rew a wedge which
would cause divisions in the work.
¨ Pray
that in all things they will base their decisions on what
Gods word says and not on personal ideas and opinions.
¨ Pray
for the Dry Season Conference to be held early
June DV.
TANZANIA
Allan and
Jacqui McKinnon (Moshi) are grateful to those who prayed for
Lucia (see
May Prayer Newsletter), but
unfortunately her visa was refused again. Please continue to
pray for her and
Erik as they now apply to
universities in Tanzania, for entry in August.
Lucia hopes to study
International Relations and Erik Medi cine.
ZAMBIA
Alice
White, an American mission worker at
Chavuma Hospital, has advised
that there is an urgent need for a hospital administrator and an
accountant. One person could fulfil both roles if qualified. Also
needed are doctors and registered nurses. One of the problems is
that the Government have been demanding more nursing staff with
Zambian qualifications. Pray
that the Lord will call suitable people to fill these vacancies.
Prayer is also requested for
safety as there have recently been violent attacks near the border,
connected with witchcraft.
Amanda
Kirk (Amano Christian School, Chingola) has now returned from
South Africa after having a skin graft on her head. She still has
exercises to do for her hand and back injuries, caused by a road
accident back in April (see Prayer Requests for 05/04/2010). Please
continue to pray for a full
recovery. Pray also for
Hilary Millard as she teaches
Amanda’s class.
Barry &
Rachel Haigh are planned to return to Zambia on
11th June for 4 months,
teaching, preaching and counselling. However the precise
arrangements are a little in doubt at the moment because of the BA
cabin stewards strike.
HAITI
Graham &
Alison Black (France) reports that things are starting to
move in Haiti after the
earthquake, and they have received 10 requests for the
Beginners
Course, as well as courses coming back in again for
correction.
Some requests are heart rending, such as a
young woman who wrote in asking for
prayer and spiritual support following the loss of her
husband in the earthquake after only two years of marriage, and that
she had lost her first baby, born prematurely, through lack of
proper medical care. Please pray
for this country and it's very poor and needy population.
REPUBLIC
OF IRELAND
Noel and Liza McMeekin (Cootehill) would value
prayer for a new ladies’
outreach called ‘Fit
for Life’, which started on 17th May and will run for four
weeks. This consists of a walk, a healthy supper and then an
evangelistic talk. Prayer is
also requested for Noel as he
begins tract distribution in local towns and villages. He has
ordered 24,000 tracts and will be using one he has written himself
called ‘Grounded’,
which focuses on the uncertainty that arose as a result of the
volcanic ash and points out the certainties of God’s Word.
