MALAWI
Jonathan and
Ruth Newell (Blantyre) are coming
home on furlough on
23rd
December. Give thanks that
Hannah
(aged 11) and
Joseph
(aged 8) have places in a school
which is near to where the family are
staying. Joseph, however, has to sit an
entrance exam.
Prayer
is requested for the fourth edition of the
Challenge Christian newspaper, 40,000
copies of which have recently been
distributed in Malawi.
TANZANIA
Allan and
Jacqui McKinnon (Moshi) are grateful
to those who
prayed for their week away with the
children from
Moshi
Christian Children’s Centre. They had
a good time, and only suffered one flat tyre
during the journey.

as they now prepare to return to the UK.
ZAMBIA

Finnie (Hillwood), who is unwell and
in hospital after suffering a snake bite.
JAPAN
Charles
Lawrence (Fukushima) will have his
final chemotherapy treatment on

December, and then a test on
7th January.
Give thanks that the Lord gave him strength
for his recent preaching engagements in
Kyushu.
BELGIUM

Dryburgh (Gent) asks for
prayer
support as she leads a group of women at the
Assembly in
Kuurne on different subjects related
to depression. The themes include: The
Cross; Our hope in Christ; Dealing with
regret and guilt; Dealing with fear; People
Pleasing; Living as a new person in Christ.
FRANCE
David and
Brigitte Sutherland (Arras) request
prayer
for their Christmas family outreach on
20th
December, and also a special
evangelistic event on
31st January.
Gerry and
Dorothy Seed (Nantes) would value
prayer
for their annual Christmas programme during
the weekend of
19th and
20th December.
SPAIN
Ken and
Alison Barrett (Madrid) ask for
prayer
for a student evangelistic supper to be held
today,
16th
December. Please pray for boldness
for the leaders of the group and for
conviction among those attending. On
19th
December, the
Alcala
and Azuqueca
congregations have organised a Christmas
dinner with invited guests, as a means of
evangelism. The special Christmas
presentation at
Alcala
is planned for
20th,
and this year they have been granted the use
of the local civic hall, which they have not
used for five years. Please
pray
for these events.
LOCAL
The
Carol
Service is planned for this Sunday
(D.V.) at 6:30 pm. 500 invitation cards have
been distributed to local housing. Mr
David Cartwright will be
responsible for preaching the Christmas
message.
There will be
No “Missionary
Prayer Requests” next week, but it is
expected (D.V.) that there will be something
on the 29th December
