Prayer Requests for Week Commencing 14-06-2010

The following information comes mainly from the Echoes weekly prayer bulletin and further details can be found on their web site. Other prayer requests have come from direct communication with the missionary involved.  The prayer requests listed here are, as far as is sensibly practical, for activities that are happening on the particular week. A list of previous weekly Missionary Prayer requests can be found here.

The Assembly also, most months, publishes a monthly Missionary Prayer Newsletter, for prayer requests on a longer time-scale. Click here for the last month's prayer newsletter.

D R of CONGO

Mary Ratter (Katoka) asks us to pray for the annual bush conference, which starts on 18th June. From 18th to 20th there will be three sessions a day for everyone, and then there will be special meetings on the 21st for elders and on the 22nd for Sunday school teachers. Pray for the two invited speakers who are travelling from Zambia, Charles Kafweta and Stephen Kamwenyi.

TANZANIA

Allan and Jacqui McKinnon (Moshi) ask for prayer as they settle back into Moshi for the next month and finalise details for the two-week GLO camp starting on 20th June. Pray for the team from Scotland as they travel out on 19th June, and for a time of blessing during the camp.

ZAMBIA

Barry & Rachel Haigh have now  returned to Nyangombe for 4 months. Please remember in prayer.

ARGENTINA

On 18th June, Bobby Jack will begin taking classes at the Muller Bible School in Buenos Aires. Pray for him as he teaches first, second and third year students. Prayer would also be valued for Bobby’s son Roberto, who was recently held up on his way home from school. His assailant was under the influence of drugs and demanded money from him, but fortunately some of Roberto’s school friends arrived before any funds were handed over. This is the second time during the past year that Roberto has encountered a robber. Please remember him in your prayers.

MEXICO

Pray for Eglon Harris (Orizaba) as he speaks at a men’s conference in Atlehuaya on 19th June. The theme is "Men with a Ministry". Judith will be speaking at a ladies’ conference in Veracruz on 26th June, and her subject is "Put on love."

PERU

Luis and Anne-Laure Mostacero  (Trujillo) would value prayer for the next term of the Bible Institute, which starts on 21st June and runs till 18th July. Luis will be teaching on Interpreting Symbols and Parables, whilst Anne-Laure will be helping with the practical arrangements. Pray also for the guest speakers who have been invited to teach, Micah Tuttle and Danny Crookes.

ITALY

Adino and Eleanor Ricossa (Mombello Monferrato) request prayer for Silvia and Lorenzo who are attending a Christian camp this week for the first time. Their parents have been coming to the group at Brusasco for a few months, but as yet have not made a profession of faith.

NORWAY

Nat Rodgers (Skien) plans to travel to Bergen for a four-day assembly retreat later this week. Pray for a time of blessing for all who attend. Remember Nat’s journey, as there are strikes at a number of airports and he may have to travel by road if the situation worsens.

SPAIN

Ken and Carmen Stunt (Almazan) advise that a four-day camp will be held on their estate beginning on 23rd June. Kelvin and Joyce Samwata, from Zambia, will be coming to help with this and to speak at missionary conferences in Almazan and Soria. Harry and Stephanie Lannon will also be visiting during this time.

Ken and Alison Barrett (Madrid) request prayer for continuing contact from their ‘coffee and buns’ outreach to students and from a meeting with Chinese graduates at Alcalá University. Pray also for an evangelistic event called Let the Sunshine In, to be held in the centre of Alcalá on Saturday 19th. On Sunday 20th, eight people from the Alcalá and Azuqueca assemblies will be baptised. Pray for their witness, and for good weather for this and the above event.

Charles and Gloria Morris (USA) are visiting Spain this month to take meetings in a number of places. Pray for them as they travel within the country and seek to encourage the believers.
